DIY: Super Feta
This incredibly easy recipe lets you make one of the world's tastiest cheeses even tastier! Adding olive oil and herbs to this semi-firm, classic Greek cheese enriches its flavor and adds complexity to salads and pastas. Check out our simple DIY and take your Feta from ordinary to extraordinary.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
12 oz block of Feta Cheese
A few sprigs of Rosemary
A few sprigs of Thyme
A strip of Lemon Zest
- A medium-sized Mason jar
(OPTIONAL: a pinch of chili flakes )
Break the feta cheese up into 1-2” chunks and add a few to the bottom of a medium-sized Mason jar. Add in a couple sprigs of thyme and a sprig of rosemary, then add another layer of feta. Repeat these steps until you’ve packed in as much feta and herbs as possible. Then fill the jar with extra virgin olive oil (see picture), throw in a strip of lemon zest, and if your're feeling crazy, a pinch of chili flakes. Screw the lid on and put it in your fridge. Keep it there for 24 hours before enjoying. The longer it marinates, the stronger the flavor.
