OUR TOP 5 OIL AND VINEGAR PAIRINGS

Our top 5 oil and vinegar pairings

We love creating delicious combinations with our flavored oils and vinegars here in the Olive Mill Kitchen. The possibilities are literally endless! We have plenty of unique and delicious options, but we understand that all those choices may feel a bit overwhelming. Don't worry, we've brainstormed and put together our top 5 flavor pairings with easy recipes just for you. It's time to get creative in the kitchen!

1. Meyer Lemon Olive Oil with Prickly Pear Balsamic Reduction

These two oils compliment each other so well, they are both incredibly fresh and fruity. The tart flavor from the Meyer Lemon Olive Oil works just right when paired with the sweet and tangy flavor coming from the Prickly Pear Balsamic Reduction. This pairing is wonderful over any and every salad, but our #1 way to use it is in our Spring Veggie Grain Bowl.

2. Fresh Crush Basil Olive Oil with Strawberry Balsamic Reduction

This pairing is absolutely delightful. The sweet, fruitiness of the Strawberry Balsamic Reduction perfectly balances the grassy and aromatic flavor of the Fresh Crush Basil Olive Oil. This one is super refreshing and delicious almost anyway you have it, but here is our favorite way - the Strawberry Basil Flatbread!

3. Bacon Olive Oil and Fig Balsamic Reduction

Honestly, the name of this pairing might be enough to convince anyone of how crazy amazing it is. The Bacon Olive Oil flavor brings a rich and salty taste while the Fig Balsamic Reduction adds that perfect touch of sweet. There really is nothing better. We love this pairing all over some perfectly roasted Brussels sprouts, and here is how we do it...

Bacon Olive Oil Braised Brussels Sprouts
Yield: 4 servings

1 pound Brussel Sprouts, halved
2 tablespoons Queen Creek Olive Mill Bacon Olive Oil
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon Queen Creek Olive Mill Fig Balsamic Reduction
Salt & pepper to taste
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 400 °F.  In a large bowl, whisk together Bacon Olive Oil, minced garlic, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. Add halved Brussels sprouts and toss to coat.  Place Brussels sprouts cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20 minutes until sprouts are cooked but still slightly firm to the touch.  Arrange Brussels sprouts on a serving platter. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve.

4. Roasted Garlic Olive Oil and Traditional Style Balsamic Reduction

This pairing is a classic one, the flavors are simple, yet amazing and satisfying all at the same time. We love using this pairing in just about anything, but we wanted to share one of our favorite, easiest and most versatile ways to use it - in our Garlic and Balsamic Herb Marinade.

5. 3 Chile Olive Oil and Peach White Balsamic Reduction

This one may be a surprise to many, but take it from us, it is dang good! The 3 Chile Olive Oil has fantastic spice that is eased perfectly by the sweet Peach White Balsamic Reduction. This pairing can be used in many different ways, from candying nuts to marinating a chicken breast, but our favorite way to use it it with the mighty delicious Beachy Peachy Shrimp Tacos, this recipe calls for some Mexican Lime Olive Oil as well, now that is a blend for the books (or should I say tacos?)!
