Not only should extra virgin olive oil be a staple in your pantry, but also in your bathroom cabinet. That's right, I'm telling you to add it to your daily beauty routine.

For centuries, extra virgin olive oil has been used topically to relieve every day skin ailments. It has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-aging properties because it is packed with antioxidants and other nutrients. It hydrates the skin by building the skin’s moisture barrier to prevent loss of moisture.

The Dos and Don'ts of Essential Oils

Posted by Joey Rea on Aug 29, 2016 2:23:56 PM

What are essential oils?

Essential oils have been used for thousands of years in ancient civilizations such as the Egyptians, traditional Chinese culture, Vedic Indian culture, and in the Roman Empire. The oils were used in different religious and ceremonial rituals symbolizing purification and used in healing therapies.

These oils are most commonly steam distilled, but can also be expressed (cold pressed), percolated, extracted with a solvent, or extracted in a number of other ways. These potent oils are used in aromatherapy and often used in many other holistic healing modalities. But knowing how to use them properly is key in getting the most out of your oils..

Olive Oil Soap VS. Commercial Soap

Posted by Joey Rea on Mar 17, 2016 6:00:00 AM

It has been brought to my attention that many people are clueless when it comes to what's in a typical (or commercial) bar of soap. Yes, the soap you use to wash your hands, face and body multiple times a day. Soap's soap, right? Isn't it all the same? No.

I was taught at a young age the benefits of a natural soap and the detriments of a commercial soap. Olive oil soap (a natural soap) is an ancient form of cleansing, nourishing, and protecting the skin from external toxins. It has been used by the Egyptians, Grecians, and Romans to cleanse hair and skin and even to clean clothes. My family, thanks in large part to my mother, has been using olive oil soap for almost 20 years.

Below is a comparison between olive oil soap and commercially produced soap. The results are eye-opening and we feel the need to share with our readers.
